I started my morning at a cozy little spot that’s known for waffles—and unpredictability. The owner took one look at me, grinned, and said, “I’ve got just the thing.” Moments later, a plate appeared: crispy fried chicken, golden waffles, with a scoop of butter drizzled in chocolate on top, and a side of creamy mac and cheese. I didn’t question it. I just inhaled it.
Let’s just say, he saw me coming. And he nailed it.
From that first bite, I knew this trip was going to be unforgettable. The locals call this treasured secret breakfast nook "Waffles and Whatnots."
So, any guesses where I am?
Here’s a hint: you can’t drive here from anywhere else in the U.S., but you can fly in and feel like you’ve landed on another planet.
